Obviously still intimidated by last months succes, this must be my first post since for ever. Luckily this blog is not about us weeping about not blogging, but about music. And music there is: First off is the latest and brilliant WhoMadeWho rework by Digitalism:
WhoMadeWho – Inside World (Digitalism remix)
Once again a genius act from the boys from Hamburg which brought me, once again, closer to WhoMadeWho.
January also was full of releases, for instance Steve Aoki´s new album Wonderland and Enter Shikari came up with their latest record A Flash Flood of Colour. Well, well… Most disappointing was indeed Wonderland. I have no idea, what David Guetta may sound like, but I assume Wonderland just to be like that. My first impression was clearly, that the man behind such classics as Warp 1.9 made a record, featuring almost everyone in america, to earn the big money. This be as it may, but going completly mainstrain often contains a lack of quality and authenticity, which Steve Aoki experienced big time. You are welcome to judge yourself, but I am not convienced…
Steve Aoki feat LMFAO and NERVO – Livin’ My Love // Why on earth would you do a feature with a band called LMFAO?! It would be like Boys Noise did a song with Die Atzen.
I was neither convienced by the latest Enter Shikari work, but for a whole other reason. It was because the record turned out to be more an electro album, then a metal one, so I just have to listen to it with different ears. Under any circumstances, Enter Shikari have the habbit of getting DJ creative, so we can expect a lot of great remixes of A Flash Flood of Colour. But more on that later; Please notice though, that A Flash Flood of Colour has the most unsightly cover I have seen in a long time. I swear; In ten years it will be like watching an 80´s video today. Brrr.
Enter Shikari – Gandhi mate, Gandhi
More to come, stay close!
