Forester on High Heels

The following post will be about the swedish electro duo „The Knife“ from Stockholm which combines some darker beats and melodies with avant-garde elements. Some people may say: “The Knife are the equivalent of “Placebo” in the electronic music genre”.

As unusual as their sound might be, so they handle the swedish field of mainstream music. Their unwill to cooperate with swedish and international mainstream music scenes is expressed by unregular photo shootings, a long period without live jigs and boykotting the swedish counterpart of the „Grammy-Awards“ through sending up two other artists wearing gorilla costumes labeled with a big 50 as an expression of male dominance in the music scene.

Even though their behaviour they earned 6 „Grammis“ during the last 6 years. Their music fits in as „by the way“ artistic accompany through autumn life, it will appear and leave. Try it yourself:

Last but not unnamed should be the solo project of front woman „Karin Dreijer Andersson“ which started in 2008 under the name „Fever Ray“ and released its debut album one year later with throughout good reviews. Strikingly characteristic are her extremely pitched voice, which you already can here in the works of „The Knife“ and dark and a thoughtfully general picture of the songs:
